THE LONDON CONCERTANTE
Saturday 7 September 7.30pm
For this year’s visit to the Festival, London Concertante will play works for strings and clarinet. They begin with Mozart’s much-loved Clarinet Quintet. Following that is Dvorák’s Terzetto for two violins and viola – a first performance at Great Comp. The concert concludes with Jean Françaix’s Clarinet Quintet, about which the composer said ‘here the earthen pot risked a collision with the diamond vessel of WA Mozart’: history has judged that to be far too modest.
Mozart: Clarinet Quintet in A major, K. 581
Dvorák: Terzetto in C major, Op. 74
Françaix: Clarinet Quintet
This concert is kindly sponsored by Mrs Carol Kennedy
Tickets £27.00 (series discount applies)
