Sunday 26 June 8.00pm

The Solem Quartet, one of today’s most innovative and adventurous quartets, make their much-anticipated second visit to the Festival. They begin with an arrangement of one of Clara Schumann’s most famous works, written for violin and piano. Interesting similarities link the Bartók and Beethoven quartets: both open with slow fugues and both are played without intervals between the movements.

C Schumann: Three Romances (arr. Tress)
Bartók: Quartet No. 1 in A minor
Beethoven: Quartet No. 14, Op. 131
