Claranet Goes to Town

Emma Johnson, together with John Lenehan (piano) and Paul Clarvis (percussion) explores some of the elements – ragtime, cakewalks, popular song, habanera, Negro Spirituals – which fused together to create jazz at the beginning of the 20th century, reaching its peak in the music of the King of Swing, Benny Goodman. The audience feedback has been ecstatic: ‘I would give it more than five stars if possible’; ‘Wonderful musicianship and such enthusiasm and joy in playing’; ‘What a fabulous evening!’
